KC Courtland makes her home in Northern California, where she earns a living as a substitute teacher and spends the rest of her time lost in stories—sometimes the ones she reads, sometimes the ones she writes. A lifelong lover of words, she focuses on literary fiction, realism, and contemporary fiction. Her work is drawn to the quiet dramas of everyday life, exploring the ways ordinary moments reveal extraordinary truths.

Away from the page, KC is an enthusiastic but unskilled painter, a yoga dabbler, and a devoted cat companion to Mister Peach Fuzz and Miss Thang. She finds inspiration in art, nature, and the rhythms of daily living with her loving spouse.

Teaching keeps her connected to curiosity and imagination, qualities she carries into her writing. Above all, she believes stories have the power to connect us—to make us pause, reflect, and see the world with new eyes.
